2015 was a big, hectic year for the Eagleson family — you do not realize how difficult it is to recount an entire year until you have to sit down and think through it! We have had quite a few big events happen, not least of which being the Eagleson parents selling their home and moving to a new one. Both Bill and Elizabeth have been consumed by the move. We also moved the company into a new facility (the barn!) , and of course worked numerous exciting landscape projects throughout the year. Still, we got to enjoy the great outdoors on two great family vacations to the Outer Banks in North Carolina and the Adirondacks in New York.
The Adirondacks are where a lot of our natural landscape inspiration stems from. All of our cats are still fat and sassy and continue to entertain (yes we are those people who are far too amused by their cats). My sister and I also had the opportunity to travel overseas to London and Paris, and to top it off, my cousin got hitched! And now for some individual updates in the Eagleson family:
Katie will graduate this coming May (in just 3 years, smart cookie). She is doing excellently at IU and is enjoying her major and friends. She has been very busy between school and the many activities and jobs she juggles. She’s on the Dean’s list and overall has continued to be her brilliant self. Her goals moving forward involve teaching English abroad.
Elizabeth is turning the new property into a botanical wonderland. She recently embarked on the giant project of making thousands of cookies for the annual Eagleson Landscape Company’s Thank You Christmas Cookie boxes.
Bill has been busily landscaping the new home, working hard to get the yard, the barn and the house in shape. He still enjoys singing with the church choir.
I, Sam, have been busy doing Kenpo at the House of Martial Arts and getting over some histoplasmosis (fungus in my lungs). I try my best to balance work time with play, and have been able to take a few excellent trips this year, see a few concerts, and travel to surrounding states to visit friends. I have also had a hand in sprucing up the new home. We installed a beautiful koi pond on the property, which has been a blast for all of us. We even got baby fish! And somehow I still find a little time to practice trumpet.
Coming up next year, both my parents are looking forward to settling in more! We will continue working hard to grow Eagleson Landscape Co, and are excited for the new projects to come. We love our family, and cannot wait for the wonderful family-filled holiday season!
