Flower Farm

Eagleson Flower Farm offers locally-grown cut flowers for Greater Indianapolis retailers.

The Eagleson Flower Farm Difference:

Our Origin Story

Eagleson Flower Farm was born from our family’s 40+ years of commitment to the local environment. After growing up with parents whose idea of a vacation was visiting plant nurseries all over the country, Kay Eagleson returned from four years of living in Japan and was tasked with figuring out what to do with the back two acres of an already well-developed home garden. Going down the proverbial rabbit hole of information that is inherent in being an Eagleson, Kay landed on cut flowers and Eagleson Flower Farm was launched in 2020!

Just like our landscaping business, the philosophy behind what we decide to grow comes from a tremendous amount of study. We started with a mix of best practices, what would work on our area and what is pretty. Now we are moving into more unique varieties that still honor our Indiana climate. Our plants reflect what we enjoy, what our retailers want, and lots of experimentation.

We Are Part of Our Local Community:

A founding tenet of Eagleson Flower Farm is to be an integral part of the local farm to table movement in Greater Indianapolis by:

  • Offering educational opportunities that reconnect people to the environment through plants, helping them understand the intentional decisions that go into the floral arrangements they receive. We plan to create articles about our best practices, such as seed starts, bed prep, and harvesting. We also intend to offer on-site educational events.

  • Participating in the development of local events such as the 2021 and 2022 Westfield Farm Crawl.

What is the Farm Crawl?

In 2021 a local farmer partner organized this word of mouth event where Westfield farms opened up for the day. The goal was to educate people about local farms, where the produce they buy at farmer’s markets comes from, and offer the chance for people to ask questions. We were happy to participate in the inaugural event, hosting over 100 people in our space. If you are interested in attending the 2022 event on September 24th, be sure to sign up for our e-newsletter via the form below.

Please note: Eagleson Flower Farm does not offer flowers for individual events or personal orders. Instead, please reach out to our local florist partners!

Kay Eagleson

Kay grew up snipping flowers from the family garden and knows the power of having nature’s beauty inside the house as well as in the landscape. (There’s always a fresh bouquet on the kitchen table in summertime!) After returning from Japan in 2020, Kay has been working hard to bring the cut flower farm to life. Even without a formal background in horticulture, growing up in a family of landscapers means it’s impossible not to come away with a knowledge and appreciation of plants. This has been put to good use in the cut flower farm and we’re excited to continue bringing fresh, local blooms to the community.
