There have been whispers of warm weather coming our way. Â I pray mother nature is not being a tease, or I may sob quietly to myself in dismay. Â Regardless of mother natures intentions spring is getting closer with each passing day, bringing growing levels of excitement around Eagleson Landscape Co! Â I myself am delighted with the idea of warmth, sunny days and spring flowers! Â Celebrating the coming of spring, let’s get down to the nitty gritty and talk plants. Â Today we are going to discuss a perennial that is popular in many landscapes in the area, Phlox.
Phlox are wonderful wildflowers that boast many varieties, low maintenance requirements and are generally easy to care for. Â Their fragrance attracts butterfly’s and birds or make a wonderful addition to a bouquet in your home. Â Phlox prefer full sun and moist soils, but are hardy enough to give you, the garden, some leeway. Â The many varieties of Phlox provide a color range from pink to white to blue and a wide range of sizes, making it easy to incorporate into a landscape.
A wonderful flower that again will benefit the suffering honeybee population. Â I harp on this to encourage understanding and hopefully a pro honeybee mindset. Â Here is another link with some information of their plight. Â Read up on Phlox here and find out if this perennial is right for your garden!
