Well I have been trying to accomplish work all morning, but my cat is intent on sitting in her favorite spot, my keyboard.  Now most days I would lovingly remove her, but today she struck me with inspiration!  What plant in the garden would a cat love?  ADDIE YOU ARE A GENIUS!  I know just the plant to write about this week!  Lets discuss Nepata X faassennii, or more commonly known as Catmint.
Catmint is similar to Catnip, but with a more floriferous appearance. Â Most commonly sporting a purple flower with a green grey foliage, Catmint is a wonderful plant to create a base color palate for your landscape. Â This perennial also comes in a variety of sizes ranging from 1-4 feet in height, making it possible to use in many gardening situations. Â Being low maintenance and drought resistant also makes this a perfect plant for all full sun locations. Â It will bloom in early summer and when properly dead headed will push out a second round of blooms later in the season. Â Great for containers, boarders or as great color addition Catmint will be a long lasting addition to your garden.
Though not as enticing to cats as Catnip, be prepared to see a few cats come check out your garden once you plant it! Â Think this plant is something you would enjoy? Â Read more about it here!
