We were excited to hold our second annual Garden Tour & Market on June 1st. It was wonderful to see so many of our friends and clients. However, for those of you who haven’t been able to visit us in a while, we thought we would provide a garden update. A lot has happened at Eagleson Meadows since we moved to Sheridan in fall 2014.
Hosta Gardens
What began as a couple hundred varieties in a couple of beds near our house has expanded to 17 themed Hosta gardens with over 900 specimens. We have been on the Indianapolis Hosta Society Garden Tour for multiple years and are always hunting for the next addition. In fact, something arrived yesterday.
Conifer Collection
The back and side yards of Eagleson Meadows are home to over 300 unique varieties of conifer, including a dwarf garden and some spectacular weeping evergreens. We created winding grass paths between beds (reminiscent of Scottish gardens if you have ever been to Edinburgh) where we added conifers, as well as deciduous bushes, flowering perennials and boulders as accompaniments. It has been fun not only experimenting with plants, but also shape and yard art. There is also a custom circle patio in this area – you all know we love our circles.
Pond Area
Our koi pond continued to bring us joy, we were finally able to grow moss on the waterfall – yay! Yes, that is the type of goal we have at Eagleson Meadows. We also added a piece of garden art made of over 30 individual birdhouses. I added the post and Elizabeth found all the birdhouses which we artfully attached. Interspersed within all our gardens are another Eagleson favorite – Japanese Maples. We have about 20 varieties on site.
Eagleson Meadows Flower Farm
We expanded our gardens and therefore our flower varieties last year and are already reaping the rewards. You can find our flowers at Indianapolis area florists, such as:
And, we will have bouquets at our next event.
Speaking of events, you have another chance to visit us in 2024 – at the Fourth Annual North Indy Farm Crawl on September 21 from 10am-5pm. Send us an email for more information.
Did you know that we host garden tours for private groups? Our gardens are available for photography sessions. Send us an email for more information. See you in September!
