2016 saw the Eagleson family settle well into our new property in Sheridan, thought Katie and I found places of our own this year as well! Katie flew off to teach English in Japan in June, and I recently bought a house. The whole family visited our favorite nature haunt the Adirondacks before Katie headed out on her new adventure. Bill and Elizabeth have been slowly transforming the Sheridan house and landscaping, and it is looking incredible. It will even be a part of the Indiana Hosta Tour in 2018! Once things slow down, the parents are planning to travel somewhere warm. We all have had a full year and are excited for the Christmas season and some rest!
And now for some individual updates from us all:
Katie moved to Japan this last June to teach English to 5th and 6th graders, and has been loving it. She is constantly out exploring and making friends. Though she hasn’t completely forgotten about us over here (she even voted!) her daily life is a bit of a mystery to us as she is halfway around the world. She is planning a trip to Osaka and getting ready for me (Sam) to visit her in January.
I have been enjoying family, hanging out with friends, dating my girlfriend Danielle, taking getaways to nature, and buying a house! Yes, I have recently been through the exciting (nail-biting) process of buying my first house. My new home needs some landscaping love, and even has a “pond” that requires some fixing up. Fun nature visits this year have included a canoe trip to the Boundary waters with a friend and his family, and I am looking forward to January when I will visit Katie in Japan.
Elizabeth has single-handedly kept our plants alive during the dry part of the year, and should be given an award for the time she has put into the landscape. When she isn’t working around the house, or at her pathology lab, she is spending time with family and friends to keep herself sane…when family isn’t the cause of the insanity, that is.
Bill has been busy times three with Eagleson Landscape Co. and the influx of work we have seen this year. And somehow, he still finds time to work around the house. The barn and landscape, thanks to Bill’s skills and effort, are looking phenomenal. And of course, Bill also has been spending good times with family and friends at Colts games and other events.
In 2017, we are looking forward to further improving our work and our homes, visiting nature, having fun with friends and family, and continuing to make lovely landscapes. Happy Holidays everyone, and we hope you get to enjoy some R & R this season!
