At Eagleson Landscape, we really do not have a “style” of landscape design. Our specialty is giving our clients the look that THEY want, not what we want. Listening with a knowledgeable ear and communicating well are the keys to ensuring our clients end up with an outdoor space that suits their aesthetics and needs. From formal to natural, we have designed and installed all styles of landscape designs.
Formal Landscape Design
For this project, our client’s goal was to add curb appeal to his home through a neat and clean front yard. When he bought the home, it needed a lot of work, inside and out. We started by removing overgrown bushes and the existing sidewalk to give us a clean palette. Adding back a knee wall, a meandering walkway to add some visual interest, and simple plantings that added color throughout the seasons gave our client what he was looking for. We took special care to choose hardscape materials that would complement the brick of the home. The end result was a formal landscape design that suited the home and our client. Natural Landscape Design
Creating a functional outdoor living space while enhancing the natural beauty of their backyard was what these clients wanted to accomplish with their landscape design. An outdoor kitchen, pool, fire pit and play area for the kids were on the list but they could not envision how to have everything and a cohesive look. We created a full landscape design, bringing all their wants and needs together into a natural, woodsy look. A new patio area from the outdoor kitchen space housed the fire pit, and the pool was placed behind the main portion of the home. This design created a narrow space between the patio and the pool, perfect for a lovely pondless stream. To combat drainage issues, we installed a dry creek bed to capture the runoff, which also added a beautiful transition from the pool area to the existing trees. This backyard design offers a forest lodge type feel in the middle of Carmel! And provides space for all of the activities this active family wanted for their home. Mixing Formal and Natural Landscape Designs
Our clients built a large farmhouse-style home in Zionsville that came with a lot of property. They have big plans for both the house and the landscape, but they want to take their time. We decided to tackle the front yard first, adding a mixture of a formal and farmhouse look. The goal was to keep the plants and beds looking neat and clean while complementing the home and surrounding landscape. By adding a variety of spruce species, bushes, grasses and flowering perennials, we were able to add formal yet airy structure to the landscape with pops of seasonal color. We look forward to digging into the backyard soon. Click here to read more about this project.
Functional Yet Beautiful Landscape Design
One of our longtime clients lives on a steep slope leading to Geist Reservoir. We have designed their landscaping in phases, and our last project was helping them create a poorly used portion of the hill into functional space. We removed a rotting timber sidewalk, retaining wall and steps and cut back into the slope to create more walking space. New timbers were added to provide support, mixed with boulders and plantings to bring a more natural look to the wall. We also installed new stone steps and seating to take in the beautiful view. We took a barely functioning spot and made it into a beautiful and useful place. It is now one of their favorite areas to sit and enjoy the lake with their grandkids. We encourage our clients to take a look at our vast portfolio to get a sense of the work we have done. However, those images reflect our client as much as they reflect the quality of the work we do. Each design is custom created for that particular situation. The Eagleson Landscape team can do the same for you. Send us an email or give us a call at (317) 997-4803 to set up a consultation.
