At Eagleson Landscape Co., we credit our success to the long-term relationships we have built with our clients over the last 30 years. The owner of the beautiful landscape shown above came to us in 1989 when she first moved here from Iowa. She had her house built and asked us to do the landscaping, and we have been working with her ever since. We’ve also assisted her with overhauling the deck three times, adding and then expanding a pond and extensive design, and landscape maintenance. Now we are at the point of redesigning the front landscape after 30 years of growth. Our client’s yard is not large, but the design is intensive. Per her request, we have used every inch of available space! Needless to say, we have enjoyed every moment of our work with her.
When our client first moved into her home there was no privacy. By growing her design slowly over the years within her vision and budget, and keeping everything to scale and healthy, she has been enjoying a private, lush backyard for decades now. On the few occasions when we lose a plant, we install something that fits the look and scale of the rest of the landscape.
In terms of landscape maintenance, her goal is for us to do the things she does not want to do herself. Also, she travels a lot, so having us help out keeps her yard looking beautiful. One of our goals is to keep her plants at the correct size for her home. This continuous effort has allowed her to keep most of her landscape for 30 years. Plants, shrubs and trees grow! Letting them run wild year over year leads to overgrowth and potential damage to your house or yard.
Below is an example of a regular landscape maintenance plan:
Spring Clean Up
Our first visit of the year is when we take a look at everything, making sure her landscape survived the winter well and cleaning up any debris. We trim what needs to be trimmed, put a clean edge on all the beds and then fertilize and mulch, clean up the pond and add beneficial bacteria, and discuss any plans for plants additions/changes for the year.
Mid-Summer Trim
Summer landscape maintenance includes trimming the spring flowering shrubs as well as boxwoods and yews. We nab any weeds that have broken through, give the pond a deep clean and make sure everything is still looking clean and healthy.
Late Summer Check In
Our visits at this time of year depend upon how things have been growing. We check in with our client to see if any of her plants need attention. If they don’t, we wait until fall to come out.
Winter Prep
Late fall services are focused on prepping the landscape for winter. We clean up the leaves, cut back perennials, fertilize for winter sleeping, clean out the pond and ensure her yard looks neat and tidy before the freeze descends.
We are fortunate to have many customers we have worked with for years and years. They have become like family! These long-term relationships help protect the investment our clients have made in their yards by ensuring everything stays healthy and gorgeous for many years.
