Arc of Boone County

Visit at A Wing and a Prayer: 1581 N 1100 E, Sheridan, IN 46069

In Lebanon, Indiana, MainStreet Marketing Enterprises employs over 55 individuals—many with intellectual and developmental disabilities—to produce Mr. Canary® birdfeeders sold by major retailers like Walmart, Kroger, Amazon, and Chewy. Founded in 1995 by sisters Jan and Christina, the company began when they revived their father’s birdfeeder design and pitched it to Kmart before even owning the rights. Partnering with a Marion, Indiana workshop staffed by people with disabilities, they quickly learned to source and assemble the feeders, launching a thriving social enterprise. In 2016, operations moved to Lebanon in collaboration with The Arc of Greater Boone County, which purchased the company in 2023. Today, MainStreet Marketing continues the Mr. Canary® legacy, creating both quality feeders and meaningful employment opportunities.

Artisan Roe

Visit at Kell Squires Pastures: 1567 N 1000 E, Sheridan, IN 46069

Artisan Roe is a budding fiber farm started by Lindsey Smith and her husband Charlie. We responsibly raise Black Welsh Mountain Sheep. An old breed tracing its roots back to the Middle Ages listed on the Livestock Conservancy as threatened, along with a small flock of Huacaya Alpacas. With ample room to peacefully graze they slowly grow a rich beautiful harvest of wool and fleece- ripe with possibilities. These natural and renewable fibers are carefully shorn and processed to create yarns and textiles. A lot of love and dedication goes into each piece produced by hand or on hand operated machines. It all began from a lifelong love of traditional fiber crafts passed down from the women in her family. Along with a desire to return to a rural life. Artisan Roe is committed to the stewardship of the land and the animals calling it home.

Saviola’s Farm

3294 N 1100 E, Sheridan, IN 46069

Michael and Debra Saviola moved to Sheridan about 4 years ago after their retirement.   They started a small hobby farm with chickens and sell their eggs as fast as the chickens can lay them.  They have an acre garden that they work by themselves and the vegetables are available for purchase while they are in season.   They can dill, kosher, and bread and butter pickles, beets, salsa, strawberry, jalapeño, blueberry, and grape jellies and jams.  They also make homemade Italian sausage that will make your mouth water for more.   All of the canning products, eggs, and sausage are available for sale throughout the year.

A Wing and A Prayer

1581 N 1100 E, Sheridan, IN 46069

A Wing & A Prayer Acres invokes an image of a farm where nature and faith intersect. It suggests a place where hard work and hope come together to create a thriving and meaningful environment. This name is fitting for our 5 acres farm where bird-related activities are prominent, symbolizing the idea of taking a chance or relying on faith to achieve success in our life and farming endeavors. We hope it is a place where friends and family find peace and inspiration in the beauty of nature, fostering a sense of peace and connection with the world around them.

Come see our peacocks and chickens roam the property.  Bake goods, some produce and lunch will be available to purchase while supplies last. Arc of Boone County will be onsite selling Mr. Canary birdseed.

Haldale Honey

See them at Covenant Hill Farm: 90 N 1100 E, Zionsville, IN, 46077
