The Eagleson family has been enjoying each other’s company, their (relatively) new abodes, travel, and preparing for great events in the coming year.
Bill and Elizabeth traveled to many places, visiting daughter Katie in Japan, enjoying the beauty of the Adirondacks yet again, and attending the International Hosta Convention and a Koi show. At the homestead the parents have a lot going on. They’ve been expanding and growing the landscape on the Sheridan property for several years now, and their expansive hosta collection will be one featured in the Hosta Society Tour next year! They also plan on hosting an open house of their own for the Eagleson Landscape Co. clients.
Katie continues to love her teaching position and exploring and experiencing the Japanese countryside and culture. This years travels included Okinawa (Japan’s version of Hawaii) and Mount Fuji. She and her fellow teachers danced in the tokunai festival (a local festival in her town Murayama) and even earned her Japanese driver’s license.
I got engaged!! Woo! Danielle and I are planning the wedding with excitement and eagerness (my part is mostly saying “yes” a lot). I got to travel quite a bit as well, hiking the Adirondacks, Philadelphia, Cumberland Falls (place of engagement), Japan, and Asheville North Carolina. This year I got to share four Thanksgivings with different family and friends. I continue to settle into the new house, which is also slowly being taken over by my fiance. I even got some time to begin fixing the landscape, and accomplished some minor kitchen renovation (look out Chip and Joana Gaines).
This year we lost my grandfather, Bill’s father, and are grateful that everyone in our family is enjoying good health otherwise. The Eagleson Landscape business is also in good shape. Katie will return home for the first time in a year and a half this Christmas! We cannot wait to see her.
